The Swedish Aviation Department chose Osby Parca for arranging the boiler delivery to the major airport Landvetter, Gothenburg.
Scope of supply
3 pc. 3 MW PB2 biomass boilers. Delivered with a AC500 control system and all associated function and safety ancillaries, ash handling equipment, multi-cyclone and flue gas fan.
Installation Description
The heating system comprises the whole airport complex (hangars, halls, restaurants, hotel etc.). The airline industry is subject to emission fees and fossil fuel emission limits, therefore fossil fuels not used in the operations means more oil dependent flights without exceeding the emission limits and having to pay fines. Another vantage of using solid fuels is of course the lower cost in comparison with oil and gas.
Operation features
The PB2 boilers function as the airport’s main heat source. For top load/emergency heating the client has opted for a 2.5 MW electric boiler. The automatic ash handling system transports the generated ash from the boilers to a bin.
